Usually there are no mosquitoes as we are 1,800 metres above sea level. Although Malaria is virtually unknown within the Maasai Mara Reserve, we still recommend you take the necessary precautions because you will be travelling through regions that may be affected by Malaria.

We recommend that you take the necessary precautions and take advice from your personal doctor.
In many parts of Africa access to adequate healthcare can mean long journeys by road. The Flying Doctor Service operated by AMREF (http://www.amref.org/) not only provides outreach and emergency care to local communities in remote regions, it also provides a medical air evacuation service to tourists. Kilima Camp has a direct agreement with the Flying Doctor Service in case of emergencies. A doctor will be available as soon as you request it.

The Maasai Mara is a home to wild animals. It is not a zoo and is not fenced.  For your safety the Camp is always guarded by our Maasai guards. You will also be escorted day and night on your trips by our experienced guides and trackers.
