Game watch

On board of one of our specially designed and equipped 4x4 safari vehicles, you will explore the wilderness of the Masai Mara and its African wildlife.

With the entrance to the Masai Mara National Reserve (Oloololo Gate, at the foot of the Siria escarpment, also called Oloololo escarpment) just a fifteen minute drive away, Kilima Camp is the perfect base from which to start your safari game drive and explore the Masai Mara plains and its African wildlife.

CheetahsKilima Camp is also a perfect location to witness the Great Migration - a migration so immense it has to be seen to be believed.

Kilima Camp experienced drivers will bring you to different places during every safari game drive, as to give you a good idea of the different natural habitats of the African wildlife.

Their knowledge of the Masai Mara plains thanks to their daily presence in the Masai Mara National Reserve and in particular the Mara Triangle, will give you the best chances of observing the ‘Big Five’ of the African fauna (elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion and leopard) as well as the vast array of other gazelles, antelopes and predators, smaller and larger. Bird life is also prolific, with over 300 African bird species recorded in the Masai Mara National Reserve. And the crocodiles in the rivers are among the largest in Africa!

Safari game drives are conducted at the most appropriate hours, when the African wildlife and animals are most active. There is no scheduled and fixed departure. Traditionally, Kilima Camp manager will discuss with you, before or after the dinner in the main tent area, the programme for your next day, as to better respond to your specific interests and wishes (safari game drive departure time, for full or half day, other activities...) .

At noon, you enjoy your packed picnic lunch or a special bush lunch in the vastness of the Masai Mara.

Your driver will make a few stops along the banks of the scenic Mara River, as to allow you to stretch your legs.

We can also organise night game drive upon request.
