Game drives:
In our 4x4 open-sided vehicles we depart early morning and late afternoon, to make best use of the light and animal movements. Night game drives can also be arranged upon request. The Maasai Mara is famous for its exceptional population of game and the annual wildebeest migration from July to October - a migration so immense it has to be seen to be believed. From the vantage point of Kilima Camp witness the gathering of the herds as they daily cross the Mara River on their way to new grazing grounds.  The Maasai Mara is also famous for its large population of lions which prey on the herbivores as they pass through. The lions form part of the famous 'Big Five' the five large mammals that every visitor hopes to see - lion, buffalo, rhino, leopard and of course, elephant. Game drives also include bird watching, with over 450 species recorded.

Guided walks out of the Camp:
Game viewing on foot around the Camp is superb all year round. Safari walking is organised on request every day by our knowledgeable local guides and for your safety you will escorted by our Maasai trackers. This provides a great opportunity to discover the fantastic wildlife and the Maasai customs and traditions. Our guides will provide you with an in depth insight on the bush that will surprise you.

Cultural Maasai village visit:
The closest Maasai village is 30 minute walk from our Camp. You would be invited by our Maasai trackers to visit their village and their home. There are two options: either walk with them (and they will escort you safely) or alternatively our driver will take you to their village. There, you will learn interesting aspects of their way of life, home and customs, traditions, ceremonies and wonderful songs.

Bush luncheon and Bush Camp experience:
An exclusive bush experience including overnight camping in the bush with dinner can be arranged. The camping is a great opportunity to admire the amazing African sunset and listen to the sounds of nocturnal animals, while breakfast is a chance to watch hippos as they laze in the Mara River.  It won't be as comfortable as Kilima Camp but it will be unforgettable, dining and sleeping on the banks of the Mara River.

Hot air Balloon safari:

We can arrange a hot air balloon safari which starts around 6.30a.m. At sunrise experience the wonders under the African sky. Discover the beauty of the landscape from the sky as the rising sun’s bright orange hue lights up the land below and see animals at a water pool, as well as gazelles and zebras scampering across the ground. The balloon safari lasts on average 1 hour and is followed by a very special breakfast.

Lake Victoria 1 day trip
We can arrange a day trip to Lake Victoria. The second largest freshwater lake in the world. Lake Victoria, geographically dominates the surface area with its 70,000 km2. It borders on three countries - Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The basin is home to the Luo people, who moved into the area from the Sudan in the 15th century and are now Kenya's third largest ethnic group.  Fly to an island on the lake and spend the day fishing, walking, swimming and relaxing, before returning to Kilima Camp in time for pre-dinner drinks.

Ask about our special packages for groups and parties, including honeymoons.
