It takes abour 6 hours to drive from Nairobi to Kilima Camp.
The closest airstrip is Kichwa Tembo and Kichwa Tembo airstrip is 15 minutes away from Kilima. There are daily flights from Nairobi and Mombasa. The journey takes about 40 minutes by plane. -

Kilima Camp benefits a phenomenal view over the Mara River, thruly the "gods'window". Kilima Camp is located on top of the Sira Oloololo escarpment, overlooking the Mara Conservancy area.
From each tent guests can benefit form the same great view. -

We operate an eco friendly camp with the utmost care for the environment (solar power, water and waste recycling) and its people, the Maasai (participation to the turnover and rehabilitation of an old Maasai village).

The spacious central dining tent is Kilima Camp's meeting place where guests gather to eat, drink, talk, play games, read, or just enjoy the view. Our chef has extensive experience managing kitchens in luxurious tented campsites and provides you with excellent international cuisine, supplemented by a selection of fine wines. Dinner is served under canvas in the dining area or under the stars, weather permitting.

Twin and double tents

We operate an eco-friendly Camp but it does not mean a compromise in comfort. Kilima Camp consists into 12 luxurious private tents benefiting from the same great view. Each tent has its own verandah and en-suite bathroom. The bathrooms are fitted with flush toilets and a safari shower with hot water. Double or Twin rooms are available. Twin could accomodate a family.

After a day out in the bush, guests can relax and enjoy a fresh beer or a cocktail by the campfire or at our very special bush bar. Diner is served under canvas in the dining area or under the stars, weather permitting. Before and after dinner, relax by the campfire, or at our very special bush bar, and listen to the magical sounds of the African bush - all this under the spectacular African sky where the stars seem brighter than anywhere else!

Game Drive

In our 4x4 open-sided vehicles we depart early morning and late afternoon, to make best use of the light and animal movements.The Maasai Mara is famous for its exceptional population of game and the annual wildebeest migration from July to October. The Maasai Mara is also famous for its large population of lions which prey on the herbivores as they pass through. The lions form part of the famous 'Big Five' the five large mammals that every visitor hopes to see - lion, buffalo, rhino, leopard and of course, elephant. Game drives also include bird watching, with over 450 species recorded.

Guided Nature Walks and Walking Safari

Game viewing on foot around the Camp is superb all year round. Safari walking is organised on request every day by our knowledgeable local guides and for your safety you will escorted by our Maasai trackers. This provides a great opportunity to discover the fantastic wildlife and the Maasai customs and traditions. Our guides will provide you with an in depth insight on the bush that will surprise you.

Maasai Village Visit

The closest Maasai village is 30 minute walk from Kilima Camp. Guests would be invited by our Maasai trackers to visit their village and their home. There are two options: either walk with them (and they will escort you safely) or alternatively our driver will take you to their village. There, you will learn interesting aspects of their way of life, home and customs, traditions, ceremonies and wonderful songs.
